Two teams from Wellington Shire schools are participating in the BrainSTEM Innovation Challenge – Gippsland Grammar and Yarram Secondary College.

The BrainSTEM Innovation Challenge offers students the opportunity to work in a research environment and participate in the journey of scientific discovery side by side with a female medical researcher working at either The Florey Institute, The Doherty Institute, The Walter & Eliza Hall Institute, The Peter Mc Callum Cancer Centre or the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

A team of 4 female students per school is matched with a mentor from WiSPP.  These students then engage in 4 to 5 mentoring sessions with their mentors and work on their idea. At the end of that mentoring program, these students are given an opportunity to present and showcase their outcomes. This program is to run as a part of the 6th Brain STEM Innovation Challenge (March – June 2018).

Congratulations on this wonderful opportunity and best of luck!
