Two young men from the Gippsland region have recently been recognised as leaders in their chosen fields – from produce to academics.

Solomon Jones, a former Gippsland Grammar student, was one of only 4 students in Australia to receive a CAS Hawker Scholarship in 2018, based on not only his sterling academic standards, but as a leader who is reliable, genuine, hard-working, compassionate and selfless. You can read more about Solomon’s achievements here.

Lindenow grower Daniel Hammond was shortlisted for the 2018 Hort Connections Young Grower of the Year Award, becoming one of 10 nominees across the country. The National awards honours young growers (aged 35 years and under) in the Australian horticulture industry who demonstrate a high level of commitment to innovation, and who are dedicated to enriching their local communities and enhancing the agriculture profession. Mr Hammond currently works with Bulmer Farms.
